Hi guys! Starting with this exciting challenge!
In this first post the concept, and attached the mood board and some preliminary sketches!
Italy is famous for its extraordinary architecture and, a tourist who comes here is rightly attracted by the monumental Romans works, or by the great Gothic and Renaissance churches.
But in Italy, there are also more modern architectures, perhaps less famous than others, but no less beautiful and powerful.
I want to take you on a journey that crosses time and connects the present with the great Roman civilization: in the EUR district of Rome, designed for 1942 Expo, there is a big arched building, rational in the shapes but with an ancient flavor, which the Romans citizens call the Square Colosseum, because of its stylistic similarity with the more famous Flavian Amphitheater.
Every time I go to Rome, the Square Colosseum is a must, and every time I imagine myself as a child playing in that extended open space, imitating the deeds of the Roman gladiators in the shadow of the large arched walls.
