Greetings everyone!

That is my first entry in a competition ever, so I am quite hyped.

The primary concept was to create a handmade revolver-type gun powered by electricity, that's been custom made in an old workshop probably by some engineer. I drew inspiration from vintage hardware like tubes, batteries, potentiometers, knobs, fuses, switches etc. In the early blockout phase I dropped the 'revolver' idea and developed a more electromagnetic-centered design.

The scene is going to contain part of the workshop's bench with various items, aside from the weapon, like a battery, fuses and probably some tools.

I rendered a rough blockout just to get an idea. Next step is to continue working the model and put some details.

It's been a while!

I finished the high poly and the low poly models. Unwrapped the low poly and baked the maps needed.

Now i'm finishing texturing the main model, which already looks great, while setting up the props for the scene.

Here's an AO render of the high poly mesh 🙂

Finished texturing the base model and I'm pretty happy with the result! 🙂
Next I'm going to texture the rest of the scene props and then have some fun lighting and rendering.

Texturing for the props is done.

I added more props in the scene to fill up the negative space and made some test renders.

It's almost done 🙂

That is the final scene rendered with Arnold inside Maya.
Now for some post processing and I think it pretty much ended.
I had a lot of fun with this competition and I am pretty happy with the final result 🙂
Good luck to all the contestants!
