Hellooo everybody, I 'm Jules, it is my first time taking part into a 3d challenge as well, I 've seen some very impressive work from many people in here keep up the good work, good luck to everyone, and have funn!
I am not 100% sure about the backstory yet but my main idea was to create a steampunk pistol for a vampire hunter, a pistol that has far and close range abilities. I have been working on it the last 2 days on my spare time so it is still on early stages. I begin with an interesting old nerf gun image and I start modeling that, and add details and parts on top of it to make it look more steampunk and create something unique at the end. Below is my moodboard, inspired from several different pistols, shotguns and flamethrowers. I love modeling characters so I thought to model a hand when I finish with the pistol, to have a hand holding the pistol as a render. (if i have time for all that). I will post pictures of my process below.
Thank you good luck again!!
Hellooo everybody, I am back again after almost 2 weeks break, I spent the last 2 days finishing the last details for the model and the layout the uvs. I Went a bit crazy with the uv tiles and at the moment I started texturing in Substance. My aim is to finish the texturing process by tomorrow and have some time to construct the final scene. Still I need few days on the hand and table for my final scene idea.
Another similar render with better lighting, to bring the focal point of the image more to the handgun
Working on another type of render, some friends suggested to have a render in a museum display box, however I was looking to find a more creative way to present a weapon and this is how I ended up with this image.
two renders I did for the museum display piece, I am going for some holidays tomorrow, and I am back on the 29 so I will have to decide today which one to use for my final submission and submit. Still revising the text and the story behind the gun but the main idea you can see on the description page. Any recomendations which one to use would be much appreciated. (I still prefer the one with the hand)
