My entry into the Three D Guns 2 Challenge.

Modelling and rendering done in Blender. Texturing done in Blender and GIMP.

I didn't start with any concept art, just blocked out simple shapes until I got to something that looks like it has potential. In hindsight, this was a mistake.

I forgot to take screenshots for the next few hours, so I'll just tell you what I did instead.

Removed wooden stock and rear portion of the gun. I wanted the wooden stock to be a part of the gun, so the plan was to add it back at some point but that didn't really pan out, as the design changed quite a bit. (again, would have been very helpful to start with some concept art)

Added a control box to the handle.

Then I did some test UV mapping and texturing, just to see where exactly I wanted to go with it.

finally modeled the magazine/cartridge and slot.

Also decided to give the computer a power source, so I'm modeling some batteries wrapped in duct tape.
 
I think that's about it for the model itself, next are the final textures.
