Hum3D Space Rover Challenge 2020 - Episode Two

I started with the modeling of automatized machine gun that will be placed on the front wheels. Blocking out the shapes then i will start to refine them and add small details.

The machine gun is done, now it's time to create the platform and the holders that will hold it.

Another update on the machine gun, i created the platform and the holders for the gun. They allow it to rotate in any direction, so that way it can protect the vehicle from any angle.

And here it is, this is how i planned to set the machine gun on the wheels. It does not rotate with the wheel, it stays static. The platform allows it to rotate and fire in any direction. The next thing i will work on is cannon for the front part of the vehicle.

I finished the cannons for the front part of the vehicle. Now i need to create drones that will be stored in the hatches on the back part. Also need to do some refinements to the front part and i think i can call it done. I am close to the end of the modeling phase. I am satisfied with the results i got so far 😀

And here it is the vehicle is completed. I can say that the modeling phase for the Vexus is done. Now i will make clay renders of every important part of the vehicle, just to give you how they all look like when they are rendered. Also i will make a couple of renders of the vehicle also clay. After that i will start with UVing. I think this will be a really difficult thing to do because there is a huge amount of parts and details. This is the boring part of this i can say 🙁 Here are some screenshots from Maya viewport:

Here are the clay renders of the vehicle as i mentioned in the previous update. Now i will render some parts of the vehicle, so you can have closer look of them. Hope you like the idea of the vehicle 😀
