Hey guy's I am entering this contest with a rather unique concept gun I came up with and have been working on for the past few days. After seeing a science show about launching things into orbit with powerful lasers. I thought the same process could be applied to other projectiles. It is a laser assisted projectile gun! after the bullet leaves the muzzle by conventional means it is further propelled by a powerful laser pulse boosting its feet per second output causing devastating damage to anything in it's path. The gun itself has been designed from scratch to give it a unique look; Enjoy!
I believe I jumped out of the gate too fast I realized I need to beef some parts up possibly incorporate a gimbal on the front of the laser, add a power pack after all that is allot of energy.. Then I will need to redesign the interior of the case as well after I modify the gun further.
After realizing a re-haul is needed It makes more sense to use internal mirrors for directing the laser to strike the projectiles than my previous idea of a gimbal and incorporate this into the look. Part of my design process has always been to look at things from a functional aspect ,This helps my creativity to flow fast with projects and tell a story with my 3D models.
I was about to texture and wrap things up but then this occurred to me about the trigonometry I would need a balance of two lasers minimum so I will be adding another one on top of the gun as explained by my diagram below one laser would cause the bullet to tumble and go off course due to the angle of impact.
