Hi everyone, I'm joining you for this Car Render challenge.. Luckily I saw this challenge in time.
This is my first time doing challenge like this although I'm in the industry for several years..
From the first moment I knew what type of car I want, it's my Grandpa's old car, he drove it for over 35 years and now it lays on our countryside old barn for few years now...
The story should be similar, I'm still developing things in my head but hopefully I will post some drawings while I'm in modeling process.
If there is enough time I would like to model some basic characters also, they would be really important to the story...
Last time I modeled something was almost 3 years ago so this will be a good practice for me not to forget how to model.
I also wanted to learn to work in Substance Painter so this is a good opportunity for that.
I saw really nice models and renders already, well done everyone, I hope you will like what I'm making...

@Shvets_Dm, Yes, good old Lada 🙂 It came all the way to Adriatic sea, that is where my grandfather bought it - almost brand new at the time, and drove it for over 35 years... And it's still in driving condition on our countryside..

Uv's are mostly done properly, but some parts I did automatically to save time.

Imported in Substance Painter, made some basic maps for start..

Thank you 🙂 This is how it looks like in Substance viewport, tomorrow I will post finished LookDev hopefully , just need to tweak few more things in shaders in Maya, to help these textures a bit..

Hi, I forgot to post finished LookDev of the car (Maya/Arnold), so here it is... I will fix some minor modeling issues with the tires and sidelines..
I'am also working on Environment/Assets and base lighting in the meantime... I also locked the Camera so now it's easier to play with assets and their position.

Here is some basic lighting, although this is a clay render, I've finished most of scene assets, now playing with the lights and soon on to compositing I hope.
