Hi guys and gals, this would be my first attempt to try a 3d modeling competition, I'd like to remake the mid-engine dodge charger featured in the 9th episode of Fast and Furious franchise, my plan was to start by modeling the base structure of the classic 1968 Dodge Charger and then modify the wide body version afterwards (third image showing the extra thicker butt), excuse me for my weird topology, I don't really come from the modelling community just trying to have fun with this one, some WIP from last week and ref board attached below:
Some more updates to my build, texturing, shading, cleaning up some details. Render engine of choice is Octane Render by OTOY, texturing with Greyscalegorilla Plus assets, first image below is the node tree of the carpaint, I've iterated from the reference to a more matte black finish cuz it looks cooler IMO, also stacked the R/T sticker in the rear end with the slight golden stripes.
Been away for a while cuz of work, here are some more updates on my submission, I thought about recreating shots from the F9 movie but eventually had to give up cuz time was running out quickly, so here goes me and my kitbashing session, my render engine of choice is Octane Render by OTOY, the buildings in the back is from the Soviet Blocks pack by Kitbash3D, a simple HDRI with a cloudy look mixed with the sunlight object, some custom simmed VDBs in between the layers of building. The road is a plane with bend deformer so it creates a subtle slope effect on the sides, some 3D assets from Quixel Megascans in the foreground around the hero vehicle. Rendered in ACES color space. Enjoy!
