Hi Everyone
I have for a long time wanted to create a car, so this challenge is the perfect opportunity. I'm going with a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. It is to me a very beautiful car and I love the style, the wings and the "rocket-ness" of it.
This is the beginning of the process:
I think I got it! Attach first, then the images show up!!
This is the "corrupt construction history accident" that had happened when I opened my project the other day, very strange:
I made a more detailed wheel, I found this reference which looks plausible for a 1957 tire.
That logo looks really good.
Coming along nicely!!!
Thanks dudes.
Here is the rest of the Chevrolet text. Works good so far with the crease edges.
The car model is close to done now. I can't wait to have a whole car instead of only one half.
-And I'm really looking forward to start working on the scene and image layout. I need to make an other important prop, the driver and then the environment which is gonna be pretty big. -and then also shading/texturing/UV'ing/lighting/rendering and post. ........ pffffff ... lots of stuff to do!!
Here is an update. Even though it is still only from the Maya viewport it starts to feel like a "thing" when I'm rotating around it.
A small update.
I have been doing a lots of small tweaks all over the car, and making extra details, perhaps a bit too much, for instance I think I went a bit too far with the inside of the headlight glass.
I have started working on the other stuff for the image as well. This here is part of the driver.
It's dangerous to do humans in 3D but he is not gonna be that big in the final image. The inspiration for the guy is stylized drawings of men from 1950's advertising etc.
